Budget 2006 Update
January 1st, 2006 thru February 1st, 2007

This Budget Fund Drive is 867 days old now, and we would like to give you a report on the status:

To the right in this window is a Thermometer showing our progress in meeting the budget we have for the 2006 year. It starts on January 1st, and goes until December 31st 2006. The numbers in the diagram reflect figures from the January 1st start to the present date and time. The income figure includes donations and taxable income (primarily from the sale of services).

As of June 15, 2006, including the funds from the urgent appeal, we have averaged $2982 per month. To meet fixed expenses, we need at least $3900/month (almost $130/day), but our shortfall so far is about $30/day. Fixed expenses: facilities (including insurance), utilities, taxes, and Internet line charges. The total budget figure you see in the diagram includes no salaries or benefits for the employees, nothing for equipment repairs or upgrades, and nothing for any other non-fixed expenses, such as book or document acquisitions.

We are very, very grateful for those readers and supporters who have helped with their generous donations ... we could not have operated this long without you. But we really do need your extended support to help keep this initiative on-line, providing free access to Rudolf Steiner's works for so many folks around the world who are less fortunate than ourselves.

We believe this initiative should be community funded and supported: while it is the Anthroposophical Societies' job to provide for and welcome the community, it is the community's job to provide for all of its beings. “Accumulating information is the first step toward knowledge, sharing information is the first step toward community,” quoting the e.Librarian from the Rudolf Steiner Archive's Welcome page.
